Learning how to make honey butter is super easy and so quick! Keep a stash in your fridge at all times so you can have it whenever you feel like it!

Have you ever had honey and butter on a fresh-baked biscuit or warm slice of toast? Did you realize that making your own honey butter can keep you from waiting for that cold, slow-paced honey from the bear to make its way out of the pour spout?

Not only can honey butter help to save you a significant amount of time, but it can give you that perfect ratio of honey to butter in every bite.

Honey butter has become such a popular condiment that many stores now sell a premade version in their fridge sections, but homemade honey butter is better.

That could be a little biased in way of thinking, but you can use your favorite butter (unsalted or not) and your favorite honey (clover, lavender, etc.) there are over 300 different honey varieties out there and even more when you include the vegan options.

This honey butter recipe only needs two ingredients (and I bet you can guess which two they are!) Yup, honey and butter! Another awesome fact is that the recipe is finished in 3 steps, making it as easy as possible.

How to make honey butter

  • In a medium-sized bowl, add in your softened butter and our honey.
  • Mix well using a hand mixer or spoon.
  • Store the honey butter in an airtight container until ready to use.

See how easy that was?

How long does honey butter last?

While honey has an almost indefinite shelf life, and butter can last for practically ever inside of a fridge, it will eventually go rancid. For best results using your homemade honey butter within 4 weeks is ideal, but don’t be surprised if it can last up to 6 months.

What do you eat honey butter with?

Besides smearing a nice butter knife full of honey butter across a stiff slice of toast or a warm split biscuit, there are several other things that would be amazing if paired with this honey butter recipe. For example:

  • Drizzling it over fresh berries
  • Adding it to your morning oatmeal
  • Spreading a dollop over your stack of warm pancakes
