🍔 Everyone at your table will find something to love about these burgers. The creamy spread appeals to those who love rich flavors while the jalapeños satisfy spice enthusiasts!
My 2 Best Tips For Making Jalapeño Burgers
Jalapeño Prep: Remove all seeds and membranes from the jalapeños to control the heat level effectively. The white ribs contain the most capsaicin, so removing them prevents overwhelming spiciness. Dice the peppers uniformly so every bite has consistent heat distribution. Wear gloves when handling jalapeños to protect your hands from irritation.
Patty Formation: Don't overwork the ground beef when forming patties as this creates tough, dense burgers. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking. Keep patties slightly larger than your buns since they'll shrink while cooking. Handle the meat gently and season just before cooking for best results.

I serve these jalapeño burgers alongside crispy sweet potato fries or a fresh coleslaw for the perfect balance of flavors. They are versatile enough for casual weeknight dinners or weekend barbecues.
The leftover jalapeño popper spread works wonderfully as a dip for tortilla chips or spread on grilled chicken sandwiches the next day. It also makes an excellent appetizer for a party and no one will know they were leftovers!

For Assembly
- If desired, melt cheese on top of the hamburgers as they finish cooking.
- Spoon the jalapeno spread onto the bottom of the bun.
- Place the burger on the spread. Top as desired.
Notes
- Greek yogurt can replace half the mayonnaise for a lighter version with tangy flavor.
- Fresh lime juice is preferred, but bottled works in a pinch.
- Poblano peppers create a milder, smokier flavor than jalapeños.
- Garlic powder works if fresh garlic isn't available, using ¼ teaspoon instead.

Recipe FAQs
Both grilling and stovetop cooking work perfectly for these burgers. For grilling, preheat to medium-high heat and cook 4-5 minutes per side. On the stovetop, use a cast iron skillet over medium heat for the best sear and flavor development.
Use just one jalapeño pepper and remove all seeds and membranes completely. You can also substitute half the jalapeño with mild green bell pepper for bulk without heat. The lime juice and cream cheese help balance any remaining spiciness naturally.
Ground turkey works well as a substitute, though you'll want to add a bit more seasoning since it's milder than beef. Cook turkey to 165°F internal temperature and consider adding a tablespoon of olive oil to prevent dryness during cooking.
