The easiest chicken bacon recipe you’ll ever make – one sheet pan Chicken Bacon Sandwiches! A family favorite, delicious, and easy, all made on one pan!

This is easily one of our favorite meals because not only is it delicious, {ummmm hello BACON} but it also is so super easy and makes cleanup a breeze. The problem I was running into with a lot of chicken bacon recipes is how many pans I was using! The recipes are always delicious, but the clean up was annoying.

I also love this recipe because while it is a simple chicken sandwich, the addition of the marinade, bacon, and cheese send it over the top and it’s still a cinch to make! Let me show you how easy it is.

Squeezing a lemon with toddler helping for chicken bacon recipe.

Step 1: Find a cut helper to juice lemons for the marinade. This is not an optional step. 😉

Adding honey to the chicken bacon recipe marinade.

Mixing the chicken bacon recipe marinade.

Step 2: Mix up that marinade! Don’t be tempted to skimp on the honey, it is delicious! If you don’t have whole grain mustard or dijon mustard, just use regular old yellow mustard. Or even a couple teaspoons of dried mustard! Don’t let a mustard debacle hold ya back, that’s all I’m trynna say.

Step 3: Marinate! Do this for as long as you can, 30 minutes up to overnight. I like to prep his part of the chicken bacon sandwich recipe either the morning before I want to make it or the night before. If you do that, this recipe literally takes 10 minutes of actual work on your part. #mealtimemagic

Putting the chicken and bacon in the oven.

Step 4: Into the oven it goes! You can do as much bacon as you’d like, but just make sure the chicken pieces are all the same size. This helps everything cook evenly.

Placing cheese on chicken and buns on the sheet tray.

Step 5: If you thought that sheet pan trick before was clever, let me blow your mind. Remove the bacon. Add buns. Add cheese on top of the chicken. Bake again. Work that sheet pan, baby! #yourewelcome

Assembling the chicken bacon sandwiches.

There is no Step 6 for this delectable chicken bacon recipe. Because I’m pretty sure you know how to stack a sammy up with bacon and chicken. #youaintstupid

I hope you and your family love this recipe as much as we do! It was inspired by the one and only Pioneer Woman, and it’s been a favorite I’ve changed up a bit for years. She’s the best!

Recipe Notes

Use smaller chicken breasts that will fit easily on a hamburger bun. If the chicken breasts are large, cut them in half and pound them a little bit flatter with a rolling pin. Everything will bake more evenly if they are all about the same size.

Please keep in mind that the nutrition facts for this recipe are calculated using the entire marinade, most of that will not actually remain on the chicken for the cooking process.
