This is easily one of our favorite meals because not only is it delicious, but it also is so super easy and makes cleanup a breeze. The problem I was running into with many chicken bacon sandwiches was how many pans I used.

Spread some ranch on the buns after toasting and you have the perfect chicken bacon ranch sandwich recipe.

  • Lemon
  • Honey
  • Dijon mustard or whole grain
  • Garlic
  • Salt
  • Black pepper

For the Sandwiches

  • Chicken breasts
  • Bacon
  • Cheddar cheese
  • Hamburger buns
  • Ranch

How to Make a Chicken Bacon Ranch Sandwich

For the Marinade

  1. Combine all marinade ingredients.
  2. Pour over the chicken and let marinate for at least 60 minutes, up to 24 hours.

For the Sandwiches

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Place marinated chicken and bacon on a sheet tray.
  3. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the chicken is almost done and the bacon is crisp.
  4. Remove bacon from the sheet tray.
  5. Place cheese slices over the chicken and place hamburger buns, inside down, on the sheet tray in the bacon grease.

What cheese goes good on chicken bacon ranch?

While any cheese goes well on a chicken bacon ranch sandwich, cheddar, swiss, and provolone pair well with the other flavors in the sandwich.

Can I grill a chicken bacon ranch sandwich?

Yes. You can grill the chicken for a chicken bacon ranch sandwich. If you are comfortable doing so, you can also grill the chicken. Toast the buns on the top rack of your grill for just a few minutes until they are golden.

Can I make a chicken bacon ranch sandwich on bread?

Yes. While this recipe uses hamburger buns, you can use toasted bread or a deli roll. Whatever kind of bread you have on hand will work.

How to Store Chicken Bacon Sandwiches

The best way to store chicken bacon sandwiches is to store all the components separately. If you store the sandwiches made, the bun or bread will become soggy. The cooked chicken and bacon can be stored in the fridge for 5 days.

To reheat a chicken bacon sandwich, make the sandwich with the cold components and wrap it in foil. Bake it in a 400ºF for 10-15 minutes, until warmed through.

Notes

Use smaller chicken breasts that will fit easily on a hamburger bun. If the chicken breasts are large, cut them in half and pound them a little bit flatter with a rolling pin. Everything will bake more evenly if they are all about the same size.
Please keep in mind that the nutrition facts for this recipe are calculated using the entire marinade, most of that will not actually remain on the chicken for the cooking process.
