Chicken Bacon Sandwich Recipe

The easiest chicken bacon recipe you'll ever make - one sheet pan Chicken Bacon Sandwiches! A family favorite, delicious, and easy, all made on one pan!

For the Marinade

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 lemon juiced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons dijon mustard or whole grain
  • 1 clove garlic minced or crushed
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

For the Sandwiches

  • 4 chicken breasts see note
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 4 slices cheese cheddar or colby jack
  • 4 hamburger buns


For the Marinade

  • Combine all marinade ingredients. 
  • Pour over chicken and let marinate for at least 60 minutes, up to 24 hours. 

For the Sandwiches

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. 
  • Place marinated chicken and bacon on a sheet tray. 
  • Bake for 20 minutes, or until the chicken is almost done and the bacon is crisp.
  • Remove bacon from the sheet tray. 
  • Place cheese slices over the chicken and place hamburger buns, inside down, on the sheet tray in the bacon grease. 
  • Bake for an additional 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted, the buns are browned, and the chicken registers 160-165 degrees on a thermometer. 
  • Assemble sandwiches with one piece of chicken and one slice of bacon broken in half on each bun. 



Use smaller chicken breasts that will fit easily on a hamburger bun. If the chicken breasts are large, cut them in half and pound them a little bit flatter with a rolling pin. Everything will bake more evenly if they are all about the same size.
