How to make these easy spiced pecans
- In a large skillet, lightly toast the pecans over medium heat and then set them aside in a medium-sized bowl.
- In a small bowl, combine your ingredients for the spice mix.
- Using the same pan that you toasted your pecans in, melt the rum glaze ingredients together.
- Pour your rum glaze over the pecans and toss to coat. (You may wish to use a large spoon to fold them together as it could be too hot to handle with your bare hands).
- Next, pour your seasoning mix over the top of your coated pecans and then toss to combine. The glaze should help the mix to adhere well.
- Let your pecans cool before eating. And remember to savor that amazing smell!
How to store spiced pecans
After your nuts have cooled, break apart any that may have formed together using a fork or spatula (unless you like the clumpy thing). Store your pecans in an airtight container for up to 3 weeks.
Can you freeze spiced pecans?
Yes, you can! If you choose to freeze them, you can do so by simply keeping your rum spiced pecans inside an airtight container for up to 2 months. This is a great way to get a jump start on the holiday baking! Or to enjoy the flavors of fresh pecans after their season is over and prices have risen.
