Instant Pot BBQ Chicken is an easy and quick meal the whole family will love! Cooked in just 7 minutes, you can beat this delicious dinner.

Instant Pot BBQ Chicken is an easy way to make a tasty dish. Eat it as is with a for or use this shredded chicken and homemade barbecue sauce as a filling in your favorite sandwiches, sliders, and more!

Cooking BBQ chicken in the Instant Pot is an easy process from start to finish and incredibly fast too! With 5-7 minutes of actual cook time and a about 4 minutes of a natural release, you can have yourself Instant Pot BBQ Chicken in no time!

Use this BBQ Chicken In The Instant Pot as a quick go-to recipe for a fast-paced lunch or dinner. Or pull it out when you’ve got guests or a BBQ potluck to attend.

Throwing some cooked BBQ chicken onto bread rolls for sliders makes a great appetizer, but topping a twice baked sweet potato makes an incredible dinner.

Another great idea is using any leftover BBQ Chicken that you might have and topping a homemade pizza with it.

With so many ways to use shredded BBQ chicken you never have to worry about it going to waste! Of course, this is assuming you have any leftover meat in the first place. It’s really delicious and likely to go quickly.

There are so many different things that you can make with BBQ Chicken and being able to make it quickly just gives you more options for when you’re crunched on time and needing a fast and filling dish with minimal effort.

How to Make Shredded BBQ Chicken In The Instant Pot

  • Combine all of the sauce ingredients in the instant pot. Stir well until everything is combined.
  • Add in the chicken tenders and nestle them down into the sauce.
  • Cook on manual high pressure for 7 minutes. Let a natural release happen for 4 minutes. Manually release the rest of the pressure.
  • Remove the chicken from the sauce. Blend the sauce, if desired.
  • Shred the chicken and then return it to the sauce.
  • Stir together and serve.

Note that if you are using already thawed chicken tenders to reduce the cooking time to 5 minutes with a 4 minute natural release.

Can you put a frozen chicken in an instant pot?

Yes and this is one of the fastest ways to safely get a chicken from frozen to safe eating temperatures in a short period of time. Simply adjust recipes to account for the frozen chicken and you’re good to go.

Perfect for when you forget to thaw meat for dinner and start feeling the pressure of not being prepared as dinner time draws near.

What goes with shredded BBQ chicken?

BBQ chicken sandwiches can go with pretty much anything. Serving them alongside some delicious potato wedges or potato chips is always a hit but you can add in other BBQ favorites like potato salad, mac salad, or coleslaw.

Can you freeze shredded bbq chicken?

Absolutely! If you find yourself with more meat than you can eat, freeze what you don’t want to use right away. I recommend freezing it in a zipper topped baggie in the serving size amount that you’ll want because it makes it much easier to thaw and reheat later.

How long does shredded BBQ chicken last?

If you keep your Instant Pot BBQ Chicken in an airtight container or plastic baggy in the fridge you can expect it to successfully last up to 5 days and be just fine. This should give you plenty of time to get creative with using leftovers in other dishes and finding new BBQ chicken recipes to try!

How to reheat shredded Instant Pot BBQ Chicken

While you may have cooked it in the instant pot, you don’t have to reheat it in there (unless you want to). The fastest method for reheating this chicken meat is possibly cooking it in a pan or pot on your stovetop until warmed through.

Stirring often to help evenly distribute the heat and prevent the bottom from burning.

Once the meat has been warmed up to safe eating temperatures you can use it however you’d like. Refer back to any recipe you’re using the shredded meat for in case it wants you to use cold shredded BBQ chicken.
