You can also refreeze your steak when defrosted in this way, but it may affect the overall quality of the meat.
Cold Water Method
The cold-water method is a faster way when compared with the refrigerator but slower than a microwave – making it a good middle ground for those in a hurry!
Place your steak in a resealable plastic bag and submerge it in cold water for this method. Change the water every 30 minutes so the temperature of the water remains cold to avoid bacteria growth. Alternatively, you can use a sink filled with cold tap water and leave it to defrost.
