Instructions For Butter Bean Recipe
- Heat the olive oil in a medium skillet until shimmering.
- Add the beans and half of the liquid in the can.
- Add the salt and pepper. If you’re using dried herbs, add them now.
- Bring to a simmer.
- Simmer for 5-8 minutes or until the butter beans are tender.
- If you’re using fresh herbs, add them to finish and stir to combine.
If you’re not a fan of butter beans, you can use any type of beans you have on hand. Cannellini beans or great Northern beans would both be delicious substitutes!
You could even use a different substitute for butter beans, such as chickpeas, if you want to switch things up. I love utilizing seasonal produce or items in my pantry, so feel free to get creative with this recipe.
