    The 6 Best Kitchen Torches

    1. Sondiko Butane Torch S400

    Price: ~$16.99

Whether you want to glaze a ham, light a fire pit, or toast marshmallows, the Sondiko Butane Torch S400 has you covered. This compact and lightweight torch can reach up to 1300°C/2372°F, making it perfect for various cooking tasks.

I love how the Sondiko cooking torch doesn't require a specific butane torch refill. You can modify the torch to fit any brand of butane tank with the included adapter! This takes away the hassle of finding a specific brand or size for refills. Plus, the safety lock and flame adjustment flame knob make it easy to use for beginners and experienced cooks alike.

Made from stainless steel and aluminum alloy, this torch is both durable and would look great in any kitchen!

    Key Information:

    • Affordable price point
    • Safety lock and finger guard
    • Angled nozzle for precision cooking
    • Can be used at any angle, including upside down and upright position
    • Up to 1300°C/2372°F flame temperature
    • Butane tank refill not included
    1. Iwatani PRO2 Culinary Professional Kitchen Butane Torch

    Price: ~$50

If you're serious about your kitchen torch game, the Iwatani PRO2 Culinary Professional Kitchen Butane Torch is worth the investment. This Japanese brand is known for its high-quality and reliable products, and its cooking torch is no exception.

The Iwantani PRO2 is the only culinary torch on this list for the torch head only. Many other kitchen torches have a handle or refillable fuel tank attached. But with the Iwantani PRO2, you just attach it to a butane canister, and you're ready to go. You do need to use an Iwantani-specific butane torch canister, which may be a downside for some, but it does have its benefits!

As the Iwatani PRO2 connects directly to a butane canister, you won't have to worry about refilling every time – meaning it's easier and cheaper to use in the long run.

With a maximum temperature of 1500°C/2700°F, this torch is perfect for both professional and home cooks. Although it's a great tool for searing meats and caramelizing sugars, I do wish it had some added safety features.

    Key Information:

    • Flame size and shape is easily adjusted
    • One-touch piezo ignition
    • Simple to use and compact design
    • Very hot flame - up to 1500°C/2700°F
    • Comes with a stand for easy storage
    • Butane tank refill not included and requires a specific Iwatani brand canister

    1. EurKitchen Premium Culinary Butane Torch

    Price: ~$24.99

For a robust and versatile torch, look no further than the EurKitchen Premium Culinary Butane Torch. This heavy-duty culinary torch has a powerful flame and a fuel gauge window, making it easy to see when you need to refill. It also has a safety lock feature – ideal if you have little ones running around the kitchen.

The EurKitchen torch can reach temperatures of up to 1300°C/2370°F and has a consistent flame of up to 6 inches long.

What I found interesting about the EurKitchen torch is that it has no trigger. Instead of holding down a button to keep the flame going, you have to turn the safety lock off, twist the gas dial, and then click the ignite button. These added steps mean you can't accidentally turn on the torch, but it means there is no simple shut-off option.

    Key Information:

    • Fuel gauge window to easily see when it needs refilling
    • Safety lock and finger guard
    • No trigger - requires multiple steps to turn on
    • Adjustable flame can reach up to 1300°C/2370°F and is continuous up to 6 inches long
    • Comes with a stand for easy storage
    • Gas canister refill not included but compatible with most long universal butane canisters
    1. BonJour Chef's Tools Professional Culinary / Creme Brulee Torch

    Price: ~$42.94

While this handy kitchen tool is perfect for caramelizing your crème brulee, it would also make a great addition to your camping trip, DIY, and jewelry-making kits. The BonJour Chef's Tools Professional Culinary / Creme Brulee Torch has a sleek design made from sturdy aluminum.

It also has a fuel window – something I really like when using any culinary torches. I mean, who wants to run out of fuel mid-torching a dessert?

The BonJour Chef's Tools torch has a continuous flame lock and hold switch, making it easy to use for extended periods. The anti-flare flame is also a great addition. No more singed eyebrows or burnt fingers while using this torch! However, I can't ignore how the BonJour Chef's kitchen torch is on the pricier side when compared with other options.

Does that mean it's not worth the investment? Not at all! Just consider your needs before making a purchase.

    Key Information:

    • Adjustable temperature control
    • Removable stand for fuss-free storage
    • Fuel gauge window
    • Adequate safety features
    • Includes a recipe book
    • Butane fuel refill not included

    1. Legendary Chef Culinary Cooking Torch

    Price: ~$9.99

If you want a kitchen torch without the fuss or a high price tag, the Legendary Chef Culinary Cooking Torch is a perfect option. This basic butane torch offers plenty of features for its affordable price. The design is simple, with multiple color options, yet durable enough to withstand regular use in the kitchen!

With an adjustable flame level, safety lock, and easy refill design, this torch is ideal for crème brulee lovers who want to take their desserts to the next level. It's also great for making meringues, searing meats, and even lighting candles.

    Key Information:

    • Adjustable flame for full control
    • Aluminum construction
    • Budget-friendly option
    • Multiple color options are available
    • Butane fuel refill not included
    1. inZaynity Dual Flame Butane Torch Gun

    Price: ~$39.99

I don't know about you, but I think the inZaynity Dual Flame kitchen torch would make the best gift for any home chef! This torch is not only functional but also looks great with the gold or silver hardware options.

But don't let the fun design fool you; this torch means business when it comes to cooking.

Featuring dual flames for extra power and precision, this torch is perfect for searing larger cuts of meat or creating a crispy crust on your favorite dishes. The adjustable flame toggle allows you to adjust the flame's intensity, and the torch is easily refilled.

The only downsides are the lack of safety features and the fact that it doesn't hold much fuel. But overall, this is an excellent torch for those who want to add some style to their kitchen tools.

    Key Information:

    • Dual flames for extra power
    • Refillable butane fuel
    • Sleek design options (gold or silver with different handle options)
    • Adjustable flame toggle
    • Doesn't hold much butane, and there is no fuel gauge
    • Butane fuel refill not included - only compatible with long-nozzle butane canisters

How to Choose the Right Kitchen Torch

I've given you some great options for kitchen torches, but how do you choose the right one for your needs? Here are some things to consider when making your decision:

    1. Purpose: Think about what you will primarily be using the torch for. If it's just for desserts like creme brulee and meringues, a smaller, less powerful torch may suffice. But you should opt for a larger, more powerful torch if you use it for tasks like searing meats.
    2. Safety features: Some torches have a child safety lock to prevent accidental ignition. If you have children in your home, safety features may give you peace of mind.
    3. Price: Like with any kitchen gadget, there is a range of prices for kitchen torches. Decide on a budget and go for the best choice at a reasonable price.
    4. Ease of use: Consider the design and ergonomics of the torch. Is it comfortable to hold and easy to use for extended periods of time? Are the controls easily accessible?
    5. Fuel refill options: If you buy a kitchen torch online, it's very unlikely to come with a fuel source. This is due to shipping limitations and safety. Always check what type of butane torch refill is needed – some only accept certain types, e.g., a specific brand and short or long-nozzle refillable canisters.
    6. Additional features: Do you want a fuel gauge to see how much butane is left? Or a torch with an adjustable flame toggle for more precise control? Consider what features are important to you before making a decision.

Which kitchen torch you choose ultimately depends on your specific needs and preferences. But no matter which one you go with, always remember to use caution when operating it and read the instructions carefully before use!
