What fillings go well with this graham cracker crust recipe?

This graham cracker crust recipe is incredibly versatile and can be used for any sweet treat you see fit! Some of my favorites are my old-fashioned chocolate pie, traditional apple pie filling, or pumpkin pie. For some cold dessert options, triple berry pie and cheesecake bars are amazing options!

To add a complimentary flavor to your graham cracker crust recipe, feel free to mix in some spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, or allspice. You can even use browned butter in place of normal, giving the crust an extra nutty flavor!

Should you bake a graham cracker pie crust before filling it?

The answer to this depends on the dessert you're making. If you're creating a no-bake dessert, then you won't need to pre-bake the graham cracker pie crust. However, if you're baking a fruit tart or other type of dessert that requires the crust to be baked, then it's best to pre-bake the crust for 10 minutes first to help set the crust.

How do you store homemade graham cracker crust?

If you're making this graham cracker crust recipe and don't plan on using it immediately, simply wrap or store the unbaked pie crust (in the pie dish) in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

You can store a baked graham cracker pie crust at room temperature; just be sure to cover it well to stop it from going stale. You can also freeze your baked graham cracker crust for up to 3 months.

Can you use stale crackers to make homemade graham cracker crust?

One of the best things about this graham cracker crust recipe is that it’s ideal for using up stale crackers. Simply blitz them in a food processor, or crush the biscuits with a rolling pin and use them as normal! The butter and sugar will give the stale graham crackers a new lease of life, helping create a delicious and crunchy graham cracker crust.

How do I stop my graham cracker crust from falling apart?

If you find your homemade graham cracker crust is falling apart, check that you're using the correct measurements. Too little butter or sugar can make your crust crumbly and fragile, whereas too much butter can make it soggy.

What can I use instead of graham crackers?

Most crisp, crunchy cookies that hold their shape well can be used as an alternative to graham crackers. For example, animal crackers or gingersnaps can work well! Digestive biscuits are a great alternative if you live overseas and can't purchase graham crackers.
