One of my favorite breakfast foods is yogurt – but I’m pretty picky when it comes to the flavor and what is in it. Not because I only like a limited number of flavors, but because I usually dislike the texture or balance of flavored yogurt! So one of my favorite quick breakfast ideas is to take plain yogurt and flavor it myself. Abe and I love to mix it in some granola, it’s the perfect quick breakfast idea that’s healthy too!

Quick Breakfast Idea: flavored yogurt + granola!

My honey vanilla yogurt is a simple and classic. If I’m flavoring an entire container, I usually go this route and then mix in fruit or nuts as when we are dishing it up. I like how the fresh texture of the fruit better that way and if I want to bake with the yogurt, the vanilla and honey flavors don’t make a big difference in whatever I’m making.

The vanilla bean makes this yogurt look beautiful and also adds more vanilla flavor, but if you don’t have one you can also use vanilla bean paste or just add more vanilla extract. You can purchase both on Amazon! When purchasing Vanilla Beans, make sure they are not dried. Fresh vanilla beans are much better for cooking and baking.

I highly recommend you taste this as you go, that way you can adjust the flavors to your preference. I usually add more honey if I’m using a greek yogurt, greek yogurt can be a bit more tart. Try flavoring your own yogurt! It’s the perfect customizable quick breakfast idea.

If you’re looking to make your own granola, I LOVE this coconut granola from What’s Gaby Cooking on Tasty Kitchen. I have been making if for a few years and it is my absolute favorite!

No, you split the bean and scrape out the center.
