Peaches and cream oatmeal is easy to make in the Instant Pot or Pressure Cooker! Filling, fruity, and ready for eating when you are.

Instant Pot peaches and cream oatmeal is a delicious way to make a favorite hot breakfast dish. While you could open up a packet of quaker instant peaches and cream oatmeal, we all know those aren’t the healthiest or the most filling. It often takes several packets to feed me let alone the family too!

Peaches and cream oatmeal can be made just as quickly and easily thanks to your Instant Pot. Okay, maybe not as quickly once you add in the pressure and pressure release time, but it’s done with just a few pushes of a button and you’re good to go and it makes enough to serve a few people saving you money and energy.

This Instant Pot oatmeal recipe is going to become one of your tried and true favorites! It’s so creamy and flavorful that you won’t mind eating it for breakfast every day.

Oatmeal for breakfast every morning can be a healthy way to start your day but this recipe tastes so good it’s going to feel more like you’re enjoying a nice treat than a healthy dish.

For a fun flavorful twist, you can add some shredded coconut and almond slivers to your peaches and cream oatmeal and enjoy a nice tropical feel. This could be a great way to bring a little sunshine and warmth to your bowl even if the skies outside are cloudy and gray.

How to Make Peaches and Cream Oatmeal

  • Add your oatmeal, water, peaches, cream, and sugar to an Instant Pot or Pressure Cooker.
  • Place the vent in the sealing position and then press porridge mode.
  • Set time for 1 minute (see note).
  • The pressure will naturally release on porridge mode.
  • Stir and adjust the consistency with additional milk or cream if desired.

Note that your Instant Pot may give a food burning notice when cooking, but it’s normal and the oatmeal will not burn. The bottom will be a normal golden brown on the bottom and be completely fine.

Can I Use Instant Oatmeal Instead?

While you technically could use Instant or Quick cook oats instead, you may not want to. Instant oats are precooked and quick cook are cut to absorb water faster. Both styles of oat will become much softer when cooked this way and can give you very mushy oatmeal.

If you like mushy oatmeal, then try this recipe with the quick cook oats instead of the instant variety, you’re more likely to enjoy the way that those turn out than anything else.

Should I Use Canned Peaches or Fresh?

You can use either just make sure that the skins have been removed so you don’t have to risk them throwing off the texture of your oatmeal!

I personally prefer the canned peaches just because they’re so much simpler to use and when I’m hungry in the morning, I love simple and easy breakfast recipes. I’m sure you can relate.

Can You Save Cooked Oatmeal?

If you have leftover peaches and cream oatmeal, you can keep it in an airtight container inside of our fridge for up to 5 days. Just reheat to eat. You can use a microwave-safe bowl or reheat the oatmeal on the stovetop depending on our preference.

When you reheat it you may want to add in a tablespoon of butter or a little more milk or cream to help rehydrate the oats and keep it from turning out dry.

What If This Recipe Makes My Instant Pot Give a Burn Notice?

This actually can happen if you have a larger sized Instant Pot, and I’m not sure why. But fears aside, even if you get the notice that the oatmeal has been burnt, if you followed the recipe exactly you’ll be fine. The bottom of the oatmeal will be a nice golden color, not burnt.

To completely avoid getting a burn notice, use the pot in pot method. Mix all of the instant pot oatmeal ingredients in a smaller, ovenproof dish that fits inside of your instant pot.

Pour 1 cup of water in the bottom of the instant pot around the dish. Follow the pressure cooking recipe as directed.

Notes

Sometimes the IP can give a burn notice when cooking oatmeal. I don’t have this problem in my 6 quart but I have had reports of it happening in the 8 quart. The oatmeal will not burn, but it may be golden brown on the bottom. This is normal and fine.
