If you’ve never had a quiche, consider this a great opportunity to do so. This crustless ham and cheese quiche is about as easy as these breakfast recipes get. Some would argue (myself included) that it’s even easier to make than an omelet.

It might take little longer to wait for this quiche than it would an omelet but the waiting is what helps to make this dish what it is.

You see, while an omelet is cooked fast and hot, a quiche is cooked slower and at a lower temperature. This helps the flavors to blend together and a great texture to develop on this pie-like dish.

While there’s no flipping, filling, or standing there watching raw and liquid eggs harden into a meal, there are a few more points in favor of this crustless quiche.

For example, an omelet is for one person whereas a crustless spinach quiche is sharable. And if you didn’t hear the word “crustless” enough, let me remind you that there’s no crust to make, roll, assemble into a pie plate.

So if you’re interested and wanting to make this crustless quiche, go for it. It’s absolutely delicious and packed with great flavors. Everything from the scallions to the cheese and ham work in favor of the dish and taste incredible together.

Add in some sliced mushrooms, a handful of spinach or even some diced tomatoes if you want to. This quiche recipe is very versatile and you can load it up with as many different flavors and ingredients as you want.

So grab some of the fresh vegetables in your fridge looking for a purpose and give them one. Doesn’t that sound great?

    Is crustless quiche gluten free?

Yes it is! There’s no crust, no flour, and none of the ingredients requested normally contain flour or gluten either. That makes this a great gluten free breakfast option for the table!

    What to serve with quiche?

Quiches are great on their own but pairing them with some fresh fruit on the side or even some slices of french toast would make it a great and filling brunch meal.

Some people often serve there’s with tomato soup to make the meal more savory, so you know there’s plenty of options.

What’s the difference between a quiche and a frittata?

Both are very similar in both taste as well as ingredients. Both are served around the same time every day too, but there is a minor difference that sets them apart.

Frittatas are a type of quiche, but they are one that is both crustless as well as prepared differently. They are often cooked on the stovetop and then finished in the oven whereas quiches are baked in a pie plate.

How to make a crustless quiche

    • Preheat your oven to 375F degrees.
    • In a large bowl, whisk together all of your ingredients.
    • Spray a deep pie plate with cooking spray.
    • Pour the quiche filling out of the bowl and into the prepared pie plate.
    • Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160F degrees.

This was so good! I was worried that my kids wouldn’t like it but they loved it. I added about a cup of steamed broccoli that I had on hand, and subbed sautéed onions for the scallions, since I didn’t have any.

Think this could be made ahead and frozen? Or would the half and half separate? Or bake first then freeze?
