Ingredients
 
 

For the Cake

  • 3 ½ cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 cups sugar
  • ¾ cup oil
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 egg whites
  • 2 cups water

For the Icing

  • 12 tablespoons butter (softened)
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 7 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream

Instructions
 

For the Cake

  • Preheat oven to 350ºF.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and sugar. 
  • Add oil, vinegar, extracts, egg whites, and water. 
  • Whisk until combined. 
  • Pour into a greased 9x13 baking dish. 
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. 

For the Icing

  • Whisk together butter and vanilla extract. 
  • Add in the powdered sugar gradually. Drizzle in heavy cream gradually until the icing is smooth. 
  • Whip for about 5 minutes. 
  • Ice cake once cooled.
