Equipment

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 cups sugar
  • ¾ cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups water
  • ½ cup peanut butter

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350ºF.
  • Sift together flour, cocoa, salt, baking soda, and sugar.
    3 cups all-purpose flour, ½ cup cocoa, 1 teaspoon salt, 2 teaspoons baking soda, 2 cups sugar
  • Create a well in the dry ingredients and add the olive oil, vinegar, vanilla, and water.
    ¾ cup olive oil, 2 tablespoons vinegar, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, 2 cups water
  • Whisk until combined.
  • Pour into a greased 9x13 baking pan.
  • Dot the surface with the peanut butter. Swirl in the peanut butter.
    ½ cup peanut butter
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Notes

Olive oil should be used in this recipe; other oils may be substituted but they will change the flavor and texture of the cake.
