Melissa Griffiths
Make perfect Salmon Fillets in Air Fryer in under 20 minutes! This easy air fryer salmon recipe creates flaky, restaurant-quality fish with lemon pepper seasoning. Works with fresh or frozen salmon.
While the air fryer is preheating, drizzle the oil over your salmon filets. Use your hand or a pastry brush to rub the oil into each filet, ensuring they are evenly coated.
1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 pound salmon filets
Whisk together the garlic powder and lemon pepper seasoning. Sprinkle an even amount of the season mix over each filet.
Once the air fryer is finished preheating, place your filets in the air fryer basket and cook for 12 minutes.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
Using Frozen Salmon: Frozen salmon can be cooked directly in the air fryer at 390°F for 15-18 minutes, though thawing overnight in the refrigerator produces better texture and more even cooking. If cooking from frozen, rinse off any ice crystals and pat completely dry before seasoning.Package Sizes: Most salmon packages contain 3-4 fillets depending on their size. This recipe is flexible and works perfectly with either quantity.Cooking in Batches: When preparing more than 4 fillets, cook them in two separate batches to avoid overcrowding. Crowding the air fryer basket extends cooking time and results in unevenly cooked fish.Safe Internal Temperature: Always verify that the salmon has reached an internal temperature of 145°F before serving to ensure it's fully cooked and safe to eat.Purpose of Oil: The oil serves a dual purpose: it helps the seasoning blend stick to the fish while creating a slightly crispy, golden exterior during cooking.Oil Alternatives: Olive oil can be swapped for vegetable oil or coconut oil if needed, and both work equally well in this recipe.
