Bake Frozen Broccoli in the Oven
Melissa Griffiths
Baking Frozen Broccoli in the Oven is the best way to cook broccoli. It's simple and brings out all the earthy flavors in a way that steaming or boiling just can't. My recipe uses frozen broccoli, so it's perfect for busy weeknights when you need a healthy side dish in a pinch!
Combine frozen broccoli florets, olive oil, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Toss to coat evenly.
Spread the coated broccoli on a baking sheet, spacing the broccoli out well. (Don't overcrowd the pan.)
Roast for 20-25 minutes, until the broccoli is slightly crispy and golden brown on the edges, turning halfway through.
If desired, sprinkle with parmesan cheese before serving.
Notes
Use a High-Quality Oil: Toss the broccoli with a high-smoke-point oil, such as olive or avocado. This helps achieve a crispy texture and prevents burning.
Add a Finishing Touch: For extra flavor, you can drizzle a bit of balsamic vinegar or lemon juice over the broccoli right before serving. Fresh herbs like parsley or chives also make a nice addition.
Use Parchment Paper: Lining your baking sheet with parchment paper can help prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
