Bacon Wrapped Crackers Appetizer
This irresistible Bacon Wrapped Crackers appetizer combines the perfect trifecta of flavors - salty, sweet, and spicy - creating a crowd-pleasing treat that's easy to prepare ahead and guaranteed to disappear from your serving platter in minutes!
Ingredients
- 1 pound bacon (thinly sliced )
- 1 sleeve crackers (club-style )
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons chili powder (optional, see notes)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 250°. Line a sheet tray with foil and place a wire, oven-safe, cooling rack on it.
- Cut all the bacon strips in half. This is most easily done by slicing the entire package in half before removing the bacon.
- Lightly stretch out the bacon and wrap it around a cracker.
- Place the cracker on the wire rack set over the baking tray.
- Place about 1 teaspoon of brown sugar on each bacon wrapped cracker.
- Sprinkle the tops with chili powder, if desired.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 2 hours until the bacon is cooked.
- Broil on high for 3-5 minutes (watch closely so it doesn't burn!) until the brown sugar is caramelized and crispy on top.
Notes
Chili powder is optional if you like more spice use cayenne pepper.
