This cheesy garlic bread recipe is so easy, it takes 5 minutes from start to finish! So much better than store-bought, make this semi-homemade version.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf french bread fresh, or a couple of days old
  • 1/2 cup butter one stick, softened
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder see note
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 4 tablespoons parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  • Turn the broil element in the oven on high. 
  • Slice the loaf of french bread in half lengthwise so you are left with two long pieces. Place them on a sheet tray. 
  • Spread the butter evenly between the two pieces. 
  • Sprinkle the spices evenly between the two pieces. 
  • Sprinkle the cheese evenly between the two pieces. 
  • Broil on high for 2-3 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and brown. It is best to watch this the entire cooking time, as it can burn quickly.
