I returned Delilah back to her original owner last week. I just didn’t have the time she needed.
It was super fun to have her with me for a while though. She reminded me of things I knew and taught me about having a horse live at my house – something I’d never experienced before.
But, it was time to say goodbye.
So, once again, I am horseless.
I wasn’t really sure what I needed in a horse. 6 years is a long time to not ride. I’m not the rider I used to be, and that is really hard to admit.
When I was younger I used to put together a “dream horse” down to every detail. Breed, color, markings, training, etc. I was a little fanatical.
Now my dream horse list is pretty small.
- Older than 2, younger than 20.
Don’t get me wrong, Delilah is a great horse. But the timing wasn’t right for us to be partners.
And even though I’m disappointed about that, it’s ok. Because I think we both knew it.
Come spring, send me all your horses that meet my criteria :).
Additionally, I want a pony. Because, Abe.
And because I just love ponies.
