Chopped Steak Salad

Chopped steak salad is a filling, healthy and delicious recipe to throw together! Use fresh or leftover steak for an easy-to-make and quick meal.

For the Dressing

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon parsley dried
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil dried
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup milk see note

For the Salad

  • 2 steaks
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 6 cups mixed greens see note
  • 1 cup tomatoes diced
  • 1 cup onion diced
  • 1 cup cucumber diced
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese diced


For the Salad Dressing

  • Whisk all ingredients together, except the milk.
  • Pour in enough to make the dressing the consistency you like.
  • Taste and adjust salt and pepper to your preference.

For the Salad

  • Season steak with salt and pepper. Cook until medium-rare (135º).
  • Let the steak cool and slice or chop.
  • Toss all salad ingredients together.
  • Toss with salad dressing, as much as desired.



You may need to add more milk to get the salad dressing to the consistency you'd like. 
You can use any kind of salad or lettuce you prefer.
