- Turn them into garlic bread sticks.
- Serve with cheese sauce, pizza sauce, or ranch dressing.
- Brush with butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
How to make skeleton rolls
- In a large glass measuring cup, heat your milk, ½ a cup of butter and honey in a microwave until melted, and they just start to boil. This should take about 3 minutes. Set aside to cool.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 8 cups of the flour, salt, and the yeast.
- Add the cooled mixture, water, and the egg to the dry ingredients, stirring until almost totally combined.
- Add in the last 2 cups of flour. Your dough should be slightly sticky but not stick to your fingers and be difficult to stir.
- In the same bowl, proof your dough until it has doubled in size (about an hour).
- After the dough has doubled in size, turn it out onto a well-floured surface and divide it into 4 equal-sized pieces.
- Roll each piece into the shape of a rectangle and cut it into 10 equal lengths that are about 8 to 10 inches long.
- Tie each end into a knot to create the end of the bone and repeat with the rest of the dough.
- Place the formed rolls onto the baking sheets and leave enough room between the rolls that they won’t touch.
- Proof the dough again until they have doubled in size (this takes about 45-60 minutes).
- Bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes until they are golden brown on the top.
- Brush with additional butter if desired. This will give it a deeper golden color.

You can also avoid making the rolls from scratch and simply use a bag of Rhodes frozen bread dinner rolls, just thaw them and use them like you would the dough in the recipe, roll, shape, bake, etc.
