I'm still working on it, but wanted to add my comments as I'm going along. The hslf cup of water for frozen berries is too much--it has been 15 minutes of simmering and it is still not reduced to a thick, syrupy consistency. Also, I'm glad I went to the descriptive comments about letting the fruit mixture cool so it would set up. I was ready to pour it over right out of the pan, but now I won;t. I added a bit of cinnamon to the berries and a teaspoon of almond extract to the batter. Crossing my fingers!

In reply to <a href="https://longbournfarm.com/fruit-cobbler/#comment-213120">Tom E</a>.

Usually measurements of ingredients are at the beginning. I was wondering how much water too. I did finally scroll down and found it. I added lemon juice of one lemon and some cinnamon. It looks and smells delicious. And sooooooo easy! I LOOOVE this recipe!!!

It was just a mistake on my part, not a personal attack on your intelligence. The recipe card has been updated, thanks for pointing it out.

This looks like it might just be a good recipe for mixed fruit cobbler. There's just one slight problem. You didn't give me any idea how much water to use! I love to cook, and I do a little baking, but I'm an amateur, and I like to improvise. Since I'm health conscious I try to substitute what I believe are healthier alternatives to sugar. I've been successful using Agave nectar in pies. Since it's a liquid I have to calculate how much to reduce the other liquids by so I can get similar results to the original. So you see, it might not seem like the amount of water is necessary for an expert who does things the conventional, but you never know what other folks need to know.
