In honor of Andy’s first Father’s Day, I wanted to post about a few of the reasons he is one seriously awesome dad. And since I was out of town, it’s a day late :). One of the things I love about how Andy dads is he reminds me of a mix of my own father and his father – both great men and grandpas who we love a whole lot.
Andy and Abram are two peas in a pod, two tough guys, and the most handsome boys I know!
Andy teaches Abram all sorts of useful skills :). His first reaction is always to include Abe in everything he does, he never sees him as an inconvenience.
He feeds Abe. Which used to be quite the feat. And sometimes it still is!
He dresses him. #daddyoutfits are always my favorite. I never ever change Abram when Andy dresses him. I love seeing what he comes up with. Usually, the Johnny Cash Folsom Prison onsie is involved. And Abes boots.
He plays with him. Andy has named most of Abrams toys and never hesitates to get down on the floor and play. Benny the owl is featured below.
He got the first smiles and still gets the biggest ones.
Andy was the first one to make Abram laugh and still gets the most giggles.
He takes him on lots adventures.
He teaches him how to do the hard stuff. Rolling over was serious business a couple months ago.
He makes Abe feel safe. I never wonder if Andy can comfort Abram or make him feel better when he’s sad. He has always been able too.
He can get him to sleep. When Abram was little and had a hard time napping, Andy was the nap master. Now Abrams favorite place to fall asleep is in his carrier, close to his daddy.
Andy is always happy to see Abram. And Abram is always happy to see him!
Abram is one lucky little man to have such a wonderful daddy. We sure love that guy!!
