This cracker bacon appetizer is so simple to put together, can be frozen for later, and tastes AMAZING! Salty, sweet, and a little spice will be perfect for your next party or holiday!!
I LOVE these cracker bacon appetizers!! They are a crowd pleaser every single time. These are a twist on The Pioneer Woman’s Holiday Bacon Appetizers so of course, they are delicious. I also love how easy it is to make a whole bunch ahead of time, toss them in the freezer, then simply crisp them up in the oven before the party.
The ingredients are simple, bacon, crackers, and brown sugar. I feel like bacon is a great start to any recipe.
I like to cut the whole pound of bacon in half, right in the package. Before wrapping it around the crackers I also like to stretch it out so it goes around enough times to stay put.
Aren’t these little guys beautiful?? I bake them on a cooling rack set over a sheet tray lined with foil. I line the sheet tray with foil so I don’t have to clean it up too much afterward. 🙂
Oh hey, I’m a super lazy cook.
I bake them on a sheet tray so as the fat renders, it will fall away from the crackers and keep them crispy.
I also put the brown sugar on top because I like how it crisps up and caramelizes as it drips down the bacon.
Are you drooling yet?
Uh huh.
If you like a little spice in your life, sprinkle the tops with chili powder. IT IS SO GOOD. Seriously, you guys. If you like a lot of spice, use cayenne pepper.
Spicy. Sweet. Salty.
Heaven.
So, are you making these for your New Years party????????

Cracker Bacon Appetizer
Ingredients
- 1 pound bacon thinly sliced
- 1 sleeve crackers club-style
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons chili powder optional, see notes
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 250 degrees. Line a sheet tray with foil and place a wire, oven-safe, cooling rack on it.
- Cut all the bacon strips in half. This is most easily done by slicing the entire package in half before removing the bacon.
- Lightly stretch out the bacon and wrap it around a cracker.
- Place the cracker on the wire rack set over the baking tray.
- Place about 1 teaspoon of brown sugar on each bacon wrapped cracker.
- Sprinkle the tops with chili powder, if desired.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 2 hours until the bacon is cooked.
- Broil on high for 3-5 minutes (watch closely so it doesn't burn!) until the brown sugar is caramelized and crispy on top.
